The CDC released the stunning research findings that one in four teenage girls has a sexually transmitted disease. The diseases that researchers tested for were gonorrhea, chlamydia, trichomoniasis, herpes simplex virus type 2, and HPV. The study found that 24.1 percent of teenage girls ages 14-19 tested positive for one of these sexually transmitted disease. The study went on to find that within one year of engaging in their first sexual act 19.2 percent of teenage girls had contracted one of these sexually transmitted disease.
These young people are intelligent and responsible. Casual sex usually doesn’t fit their persona. They know that with any sexual activity, emotions invariably become involved.
